About the Role: 

ArvatoConnect are hiring for an Azure Data Engineer & Data Modeller to join our dynamic Data & Analytics team. You’ll be at the forefront of designing and maintaining robust, metadata-driven data pipelines within the Azure ecosystem, leveraging tools like Synapse Pipelines and Synapse Notebooks. Your expertise in the Kimball methodology, Medallion architecture and Delta Lake best practices will be crucial in creating high-performing data models that drive strategic decision-making. 

You’ll work closely with BI Analysts, Data Scientists and business stakeholders to identify data requirements and build scalable solutions. Your role will involve optimising data reliability, performance and governance, ensuring data integrity and delivering high-impact insights. What you’ll do: 

  • Design and maintain metadata-driven data pipelines using Azure Synapse Pipelines and Synapse Notebooks. 
  • Implement star and snowflake schemas, conforming dimensions, and other Kimball best practices for high-performing data models. 
  • Structure data into bronze, silver, and gold layers, managing Delta Lake tables for reliability and performance. 
  • Collaborate with BI Analysts, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders to identify data requirements and build scalable solutions. 
  • Provide guidance on best practices in Azure data engineering, dimensional modelling, and performance optimisation. 

What you’ll bring to the table: 

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Pipelines, Synapse Notebooks, and Serverless SQL pools. 
  • Deep knowledge of the Kimball methodology, including star/snowflake schema design and conformed dimensions. 
  • Practical knowledge of structuring data into bronze/silver/gold layers and managing Delta Lake tables. 
  • Advanced SQL skills for complex queries and transformations; familiarity with scripting languages like Python. 
  • Proven track record in end-to-end project delivery, from defining requirements to successful implementation. 

Minimum Criteria: 

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 3+ years in data engineering, data warehousing, or a related field. 
  • Preferred certifications include Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure Solutions Architect, and Azure Data Engineer Associate. 
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences, including nontechnical stakeholders. 
  • Identifies new opportunities for improving data flows and analytics, taking initiative to resolve data-related challenges.
